ARCHBISHOP Pius Ncube believes Britain would be justified in invading Zimbabwe in order to rid it of President Robert Mugabe.

Ncube, the prominent Roman Catholic archbishop of Bulawayo, told London’s Sunday Times the deepening destitution in his country, including millions going hungry and the world’s highest inflation rate meant Britain would be right to act.

“I think it is justified for Britain to raid Zimbabwe and remove Mugabe,” the paper quoted him as saying.

“We should do it ourselves but there’s too much fear. I’m ready to lead the people, guns blazing, but the people are not ready.”

A 28-YEAR-OLD Zimbabwean asylum seeker has been charged with the attempted abduction of a toddler in Wales, United Kingdom following a dramatic televised nationwide hunt.

Mthokozisi Ndozo appeared before a magistrate in the Welsh capital of Cardiff on Tuesday after he surrendered to the police. A second man is said to be assisting the police with their investigations.

But friends immediately rallied around Ndozo, describing the incident as a “modern day lynching” and continuation of the “persecution of asylum seekers in the United Kingdom”.

Ndozo is seen approaching the young girl, taking her hand and trying to lead her from the store, but the girl tries to resist. Her mother then emerges and pulls her away from Ndozo.

A ZIMBABWEAN asylum seeker who stabbed his wife 5 times in revenge for her sleeping with his half-brother was on Friday morning jailed for life by a UK judge in Leicester, England.

Sheperd Maswanhise was ordered to serve a minimum of 13 years and nine months before he is eligible for parole.

A jury of seven men and five women found the 35-year-old guilty of murdering Sheila Kasinkunba, the mother of his three daughters.

ZIMBABWEAN police are investigating a case in which a six-year-old girl apparently obeyed her chronically ill mother’s order to kill her by cutting her throat with a kitchen knife, reports said Thursday.

“We are still investigating the matter and at the moment the information we have is that the daughter slit her mother’s throat with a knife, under the mother’s instructions,” police spokesperson Tineyi Matake told the state-run Herald newspaper.
