Israeli army ‘crimes’ unpunished

An Israeli human rights group says the overwhelming majority of Israeli troops suspected of criminal offences against Palestinians are never indicted.

The small number of investigations and even fewer indictments showed Israel’s army was ignoring its duty to protect Palestinian civilians, Yesh Din says.

It said soldiers felt they had immunity from investigation and prosecution, which inevitably led to more offences.

    ’suspected of criminal offences’ is what? prove it! In a democracy, anybode is not guilty, unless proven otherwise.

    I beg your favour? That’s what the PA got weapons for - from the Israelis. Israel’s army has a duty to protect Israeli civilians from war. A war which has been waging since 1920…

    ‘illegal shooting causing the death and injury of civilians, violence and abuse, intentional damage to property, looting, taking bribes’
    that sounds like breaking news from Gaza - after Hamas took over and started showing who the boss is.
    BTW: Economy in the whole area from Rabat to Dhaka and from Teheran to Mogadishu is greased by bribery. Have you never beeen in any of those places?
